North Star Fishing Company is dedicated to producing the highest quality frozen-at-sea groundfish products in the world. We are one of the largest producers of frozen-at-sea flatfish, cod, pollock, and other groundfish, distributing seafood throughout the world. We manage three trawl catcher-processor vessels operating in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and the Gulf of Alaska. Join us for one of the many exciting job opportunities available!

North Star Fishing Company is hiring a housekeeper to work aboard the F/T North Star, an at-sea processing vessel off the coast of Alaska. Housekeepers maintain cleanliness and proper hygiene of all public areas and accommodations, including the galley, crew cabins, and processing factory.

• Standing 16 hours/day for 7 days/week
• Self-motivated team player
• Subject to post-offer pre-employment drug test, medical, and background screening
• Ability to provide two positive recent references from previous employers

• Clean crew cabins, including bathrooms, garbage disposal, dusting, and vacuuming
• Clean crew lounge, public restrooms, changing room, and other assigned public areas
• Vacuum floors daily, mop as needed, strip and wax as scheduled
• Wash and clean walls, ceilings, and lamps as scheduled
• Maintain and organize storage and linens
• Manage laundry schedule; change sheets and towels per schedule
• Assist galley during meal times with dishes, mopping, restocking, cleaning, and simple food prep as assigned
• Assist factory crew in cleaning and maintaining factory areas

• Limited privacy
• 4-6 bunks per room (co-ed)
• All meals provided at no cost
• Limited communication; cell phones do not work
• Satellite Wi-Fi provided, with newly integrated Starlink high-speed broadband internet suitable for remote locations

• Company travel policy:
  Completion of 5 consecutive fishing trips grants eligibility for airfare and hotel expenses between the vessel and Seattle, paid by the company. Each trip lasts approximately 12-16 days, depending on fishing conditions.

Salary ranges from $8,000 to $10,000 per month. Crew shares in the catch, earning approximately $4,000 to $5,000 per trip, depending on catch value. Each trip lasts 12-18 days, subject to variation based on conditions.
