Description

The Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist is responsible for securing adequate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information; identifying services that require authorization for treatment and referral; recording proper documentation in Epic; and effectively communicating with internal and external customers, including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies.

Required Qualifications
  • 1 year experience in customer service, hospital billing, or healthcare registration
  • Clerical and computer experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • College-level coursework or training (medical terminology or medical assistant course)
  • 1 year healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting, health insurance, or medical office
