Assisted Living Coordinator – Everett

Company: Morning Star Senior Living

Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Assisted Living Coordinator must exhibit genuine interest in residents, show patience and understanding while working with residents, families and visitors. The Coordinator hires, trains, supervises and schedules our caregivers and med techs, monitors resident care needs, alerts the Wellness Director to changes, addresses resident and family concerns, and acts as a liaison with community providers.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and apply standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents.
  • Be familiar with universal precautions to prevent infection.
  • Manage staffing needs by interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling care managers and MCM coverage.
  • Assist the Business Office Manager with new hire paperwork, attendance logs, time sheet monitoring, employee evaluations, and staffing budget compliance.
  • Identify staff educational needs and coordinate orientation, weekly mini‑modules, and mandatory training.
  • Ensure care staff is educated about resident needs and negotiated service plans.
  • Report symptoms and changes in condition of residents to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain accurate resident condition records in the Daily Log and report all changes.
  • Weekly monitor resident suites and daily walk‑through of assisted living areas.
  • Ensure infection control guidelines are followed and supplies are available.
  • Problem‑solve effectively and manage situations per Morning Star standards.
  • Prepare and administer medications according to procedure.
  • Develop, maintain, and update resident negotiated service plans and assessments with the Wellness Director.
  • Schedule and conduct change of condition assessments as well as bi‑annual negotiated service plan meetings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with residents and families regarding care needs and provide counseling as needed.
  • Conduct regular resident suite checks and ensure emergency alert systems are answered promptly.
  • Report suspected resident abuse immediately and complete incident reports within 24 hours.
  • Maintain the Incident Tracker monthly and assist in QA/safety committee reviews.
  • Ensure residents’ weights and vital signs are recorded at move‑in, post‑hospital/rehab, and monthly.
  • Direct care givers to take residents to prescribed activities and spend extra one‑on‑one time for those unable to attend.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate core values:

  • Successful completion of state‑approved Medication Administration training and a current first‑aid certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of health‑related experience in long‑term care or assisted living supervisory/management experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, and possess strong communication skills.
  • Eligibility for benefits requires scheduling 24 or more hours per week; families of such employees are also eligible.
