THE CITY OF EVERETT

The City of Everett is seeking a Finance Director for this vibrant city of 114,800 residents—the largest city and the county seat of Snohomish County, WA. Everett is a forward-thinking, innovative, and hard-working community. The city is known for its historic downtown, beautiful waterfront, arts and culture scene, and robust aerospace and advanced manufacturing industry.

THE FINANCE DIRECTOR

Under the direction of the Mayor or their designee, the Finance Director oversees all financial activities of the City. Responsibilities include leadership of the Finance Department and the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, as well as financial planning, investments, cash management, debt management, and internal controls. The Finance Director will lead a team of 26 FTEs committed to supporting a sound financial foundation for the benefit of Everett residents, constituents, and businesses.

The department operates with a 2026 budget of $4.2 million and is organized into four divisions:
Budget, Accounting, City Clerk, and Procurement.
