About the PositionUnder the direction of the Mayor or their designee, the Finance Director oversees all financial activities of the City. Responsibilities include leadership of the Finance Department and the City Clerk‑Treasurer’s Office, financial planning, investments, cash management, debt management, and internal controls. The Finance Director will lead a team of 26 FTEs committed to supporting a sound financial foundation for the benefit of Everett residents, constituents, and businesses.
Responsibilities- Lead the Finance Department and City Clerk‑Treasurer’s Office.
- Oversee financial planning, investments, cash management, and debt management.
- Ensure robust internal controls and accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Maintain financial integrity and preserve official documents, contracts, and records.
- Manage the City’s $4.2 million budget and oversee the four divisions:
Budget, Accounting, City Clerk, and Procurement.
The City of Everett offers a 2026 annual salary range of $180,972 to $235,680 for this position, depending on qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
