Patriot Aerotech is seeking a motivated NDT Technician Apprentice based in Everett, WA
, to support aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) within the aerospace industry. The apprentice will work under the supervision of certified NDT Technicians to learn inspection methods, safety practices, and regulatory requirements in compliance with FAA and industry standards.
- Assist certified NDT Technicians with inspections of aircraft structures, components, and assemblies
- Learn and support NDT methods such as Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Radiographic (RT), and Eddy Current (ET) as applicable
- Prepare aircraft parts and surfaces for inspection, including cleaning and masking
- Set up and maintain NDT equipment and inspection areas
- Accurately record inspection data and assist with inspection reports and documentation
- Follow FAA regulations
, Patriot Aerotech procedures, and customer requirements - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support FOD prevention and aircraft protection practices
- Participate in required training, classroom instruction, and on-the-job learning
- Travel to customer locations as needed under supervision
- Enrollment in or completion of an NDT, aviation maintenance, or engineering technology program
- Previous experience in aviation, manufacturing, or maintenance environments
- Familiarity with FAA, ASTM, or NAS standards (helpful but not required)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various positions, including kneeling and overhead
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in hangars, flight lines, and shop environments with exposure to noise and chemicals
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong interest in aerospace inspection and NDT as a career path
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work instructions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and complete required NDT training hours
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and customer security requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Hands-on training and mentorship toward NDT certification
- Career development within the aerospace inspection field
