RequiredSkills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
- An active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Strong experience with mission avionics systems, with a focus on radar, EW, EO/IR, and ISR sensor payloads
- Hands‑on experience with hardware and software integration of mission avionics subsystems
- Solid understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) engineering principles, including signal propagation, interference, and system performance
- Experience with aircraft data networks (e.g., MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC 429/664, Ethernet‑based avionics)
- Experience supporting navigation systems and flight management systems (FMS) as they interface with mission systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot avionics equipment, mission electronics, and aircraft systems in lab and flight environments
- Experience supporting FAA and/or military certification, including qualification of LRUs and compliance to applicable regulations
- Experience performing GAP analysis and producing test reports to demonstrate regulatory and requirements compliance
- Support the engineering design, development, integration, and certification of radar, EW, EO/IR, and ISR mission avionics subsystems
- Lead and support hardware/software integration activities, ensuring seamless interaction between sensors, mission computers, data networks, and aircraft interfaces
- Support the development, validation, and verification of system‑level requirements, including traceability and compliance documentation
- Assist in the creation and execution of test plans, procedures, and qualification activities in support of FAA, military, and airworthiness certification
- Coordinate and execute system‑level integration and test events for mission avionics hardware and software in laboratory and aircraft environments
- Support critical performance testing to validate radar and EW system functionality against system and regulatory requirements
- Perform GAP analysis to identify compliance shortfalls and support resolution through design updates, testing, and documentation
- Provide technical oversight and coordination with suppliers and internal software teams to ensure mission avionics products meet design and certification requirements
- Support mission avionics systems across the full product lifecycle, including proposal support, development, production, in‑service support, and future upgrades
- Gather technical data to support trade studies, risk assessments, and new business or capability expansion opportunities
- Coordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including safety, electromagnetic effects/EMI‑EMC, cybersecurity, and certification teams
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support for production labs and aircraft when technical issues arise
- Conduct technical investigations, perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and drive corrective actions to closure
- Support flight test and laboratory test activities as required
$55/hr to $65/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
