X is a pioneer in electric propulsion and battery technology for the aerospace industry. We’re working to revolutionize how the world connects by transforming the way aircraft are powered. magni
X has been at the leading edge of electric propulsion innovation for almost 20 years, and has successfully demonstrated our technology in flight. We are now on the path to take our proven technology and innovative products to market. Join us to be part of a passionate team that is ushering in a new era of aviation.
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for improving the efficiency, structure, and scalability of magni
X’s distributed supply chain supporting electric propulsion units (EPUs), power electronics, and energy storage systems. This role focuses on consolidation, optimization, and structural improvement of the supply base. The successful candidate will evaluate supplier fragmentation, identify opportunities to reduce complexity, and implement strategies that improve cost, lead time, reliability, and execution speed. This position requires strong working knowledge of electronic assemblies, machined components, and aerospace-grade hardware, combined with the ability to redesign supply networks for efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Optimization and Consolidation
- Evaluate the current distributed supply chain and identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, reduce vendor fragmentation, shorten lead times, reduce logistics complexity, and improve supplier reliability.
- Develop and execute supplier consolidation and rationalization strategies.
- Identify opportunities for vertical integration, dual sourcing, or strategic partnerships where appropriate.
- Design supply chain structures that support production ramp and long‑term scalability.
- Develop sourcing strategies aligned with program cost, schedule, and risk targets.
- Reduce single‑point failures and long‑lead risks through structural improvements rather than reactive purchasing.
- Work with suppliers to improve manufacturability, throughput, and delivery performance.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability mechanisms for key suppliers.
- Lead negotiations and long‑term agreements aligned with strategic objectives.
- Source and manage suppliers for power electronics components, precision machined components, electrical and electromechanical assemblies, and battery or energy storage components.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure sourcing decisions support producibility and cost targets.
- Systems, Data, and Process Discipline
- Maintain supply chain data and procurement activities in ERP systems, with preference for experience in Odoo.
- Use Microsoft Office and advanced Excel to analyze supplier performance, cost drivers, and inventory trends.
- Develop reporting that provides visibility into supply chain health and opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Quality, and Finance to ensure alignment between sourcing, production, and program objectives.
- Influence design and planning decisions that impact supply chain cost and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of supply chain, strategic sourcing or operations experience in aerospace, power electronics, energy storage, or high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience improving or consolidating a fragmented or distributed supply chain.
- Strong understanding of electronic and machined components.
- Experience working in ERP systems, preferably Odoo.
- Experience supporting production ramp or new product introduction programs.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace quality environments.
- Experience driving cost‑reduction and supplier rationalization initiatives.
