Position Title: Supervisor, Access Network Engineer

Base Salary: $86,792 to $135,117 annually DOE

Job Summary

The Supervisor of Access Network Engineering will be a key part of the Engineering team responsible for the management and leadership of a multi-location team of corporate Access Network Engineering Specialists tasked with the day‑to‑day engineering and smooth operations of the PON, DSL and Fixed Wireless Access technologies, along with the associated Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), including ONTs, DSL Modems, Residential Gateways, WIFI Routers, Extenders, ATAs and Fixed Wireless CPEs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage and motivate all members of the Access Network Engineering team.
  • Develop and foster an atmosphere that promotes teamwork, both within the department and across other departments.
Network Operations & Reliability
  • Responsible for the day‑to‑day engineering of the PON, DSL and Fixed Wireless Access technologies, along with their associated CPEs.
  • Work in conjunction with the Call Centers and NOC to ensure that Access network issues and outages are identified, isolated, mitigated and documented efficiently so that future similar types of issues and outages can be prevented.
  • Manage all Access network equipment vendor interactions, including support contracts management, CPE inventory management, software and hardware updates and evolution.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience, with a specific focus on access related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead others.
  • Hands‑on experience with PON equipment (Adtran, Arris, Calix and Nokia), DSL equipment (Adtran, Fujitsu, Nokia), and Fixed Wireless networks.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring (capacity, performance, ports utilization), provisioning, activation, and network fault management for PON, DSL, and Fixed Wireless network equipment.
