Job PurposeThe Surgical Technician responsibilities include the preparation of the Operating Room (OR), equipment and instrumentation for each procedure, assisting the surgical team during the procedure and the clean-up and processing of equipment post-procedure. The Surgical Technician works collaboratively with the RN and all surgical team members to meet the needs of each patient. On call duties will be required for nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Prepare OR, equipment, and instruments for each procedure.
- Assist surgical team during procedures.
- Clean up and process equipment after procedures.
- Collaborate with RN and surgical team to meet patient needs.
- Perform on-call duties for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High School Diploma.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Successful completion of Periop 101 during CHA orientation.
- National Surgical Technician Certification required.
- Current American Heart Association/American Red Cross BLS certification required.
