Diesel Technician/Mechanic III – Entry Level

Join Penske Truck Leasing as a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry.

• Maintain vehicle safety and condition for customers
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement or rotation and component lubrication
• Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1‑2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well as a team member and independently
• Basic computer skills
• Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
• Will work required schedule, complete employment application, submit background screening, pass drug screen and physical as required by DOT

• Shift differentials for second shift (starting after 11 am) or third shift (starting after 9 pm) and weekend work
• Eligible for $2.00/hr rate for holders of a current and valid CDL
• Ongoing skills training for maintenance associates

• Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
• Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate required tools or controls
• Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Work in all weather conditions
• Lift regularly up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
