1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Shop Mechanic to support maintenance and repair of construction and industrial equipment at our Evansville, Indiana facility. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues on construction and industrial equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company standards
  • Repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, pumps, valves, and other components as required
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with shop supervisors and other mechanics to meet operational deadlines
  • Assist with equipment preparation for field deployment and return inspections
Equipment Serviced May Include
  • Earthmoving and material handling equipment
  • Cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts
  • Diesel-powered construction equipment
  • Industrial tools and support equipment
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on heavy construction or industrial equipment
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and shop equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
  • Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
  • OEM or manufacturer certifications
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Experience working in industrial or large-scale construction environments
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Work performed primarily in a shop setting with occasional outdoor exposure
  • Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting required
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times
