1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Shop Mechanic to support maintenance and repair of construction and industrial equipment at our Evansville, Indiana facility. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues on construction and industrial equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company standards
- Repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, pumps, valves, and other components as required
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with shop supervisors and other mechanics to meet operational deadlines
- Assist with equipment preparation for field deployment and return inspections
- Earthmoving and material handling equipment
- Cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts
- Diesel-powered construction equipment
- Industrial tools and support equipment
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on heavy construction or industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and shop equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- OEM or manufacturer certifications
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Experience working in industrial or large-scale construction environments
Physical Requirements
- Work performed primarily in a shop setting with occasional outdoor exposure
- Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting required
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times
