Field Service Start-Up Technician

, we design and deliver innovative surface finishing solutions used across industries—from automotive to aerospace. We’re seeking a Field Service Start-Up Technician to join our team and support the installation, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems throughout the U.S.
This is a field-based position with frequent travel. Candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S., as long as they are within one hour of a regional or major airport
.
- Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems at customer sites
- Conduct equipment commissioning
, calibration, and functional testing - Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems
, including sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and related components - Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues on-site
- Perform preventive maintenance
, system audits
, and support upgrade projects - Interface directly with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed
- Work closely with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs
- Document service activities and maintain detailed reports
- Travel up to 75% (domestic, with occasional international opportunities)
- Experience in mechanical assembly, field service
, or equipment commissioning - Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics
, and wiring diagrams - Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently in the field
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
- Must live within 1 hour of a major or regional airport
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
