DISHWASHER (SEASONAL) – Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services

We are hiring immediately for seasonal Dishwasher positions.

Location:

University of Evansville – 1800 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47722. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Seasonal schedules. Days and hours may vary, including evenings and weekends; more details upon interview.

Requirement:
Willing to train!

Pay range: $14.50 per hour to $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary:

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition.

• Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it in designated containers. Steam clears or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Helps load and unload supplies and product.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff.

However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year‑round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
