East Side Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures.

A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day & evening shifts.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications.
  • Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including treatment plans and costs.
  • Maintaining examination, treatment, and surgical suite, including maintenance of equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, x-ray machines, dental, and autoclaving equipment.
  • Must be comfortable and confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Has excellent communication and client-service/customer-service skills (we want to see your amazing personality!!)
  • Has the ability to thrive in a TEAM-oriented environment.
  • Is detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous behavior toward clients and other team members.
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and changes focus in a fast-paced environment.

  • Is efficient for our veterinarians by relieving them of technical and administrative work.
  • Has a flexible schedule.
  • Can be cross-trained to work as a receptionist when needed.
  • Possesses a love of animals and the ability to warmly welcome and compassionately care for both clients and patients.
  • Has 1-2 years prior veterinary technician experience at an animal clinic-preferred
  • Registered Veterinary Technician or nearing eligibility to gain RVT.
