- Job Summary
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Start Date: 3/9 or 3/23 with bi-weekly orientation.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (48 hours accepted upon request).
- Overtime: OT applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts.
- Primary Location: Midtown.
- Shift Requirement: 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM).
- Float Requirement:
First to float within skillset.
- On-Call/Call-Back Requirement: Not applicable.
- Weekend Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule.
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.
- Required Certifications (attach upon submission):
- Current active compact license.
- AHA BLS.
- NIHSS.
- Minimum Experience Required:
- Two years of strong Med/Surg experience.
- At least one travel assignment.
- Charting Experience:
- Recent EPIC experience required.
- Must complete a check-off class.
- Patient Population:
- Cardiac (chest pain, stress test/Lexiscan, post-cath without intervention).
- CVA/TIA.
- Hypotensive patients.
- Syncope/dizziness.
- Shortness of breath (SOB).
- Post-surgical patients.
- GI/Urology pre/post procedure.
- AKI.
- Cellulitis.
- Detox/CIWA.
- Required Skillset:
- Cardiac cath recovery (femoral/TR bands).
- Post-surgical care (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, stones).
- NIHSS/Neuro assessment/dysphagia screening.
- Initiate and titrate drips (Heparin, Insulin).
- Indwelling drain management.
- Straight cath/Foley care.
- NG tube insertion.
- Blood administration and documentation.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required.
- Unit Information:
- 23 beds.
- Patient ratios:
- Days (0700–1500): 1:4–5
- PMs (1500–1900): 1:5–6
- Nights (1900–0700): 1:6–7
- Charge Nurse takes patient assignment on all shifts.
- Unit Strengths:
- Welcoming to travelers.
- Strong teamwork.
- Manager with 22+ years in organization.
- Lowest turnover units in the hospital.
- Scrub Colors: Navy blue only.
- Dress Code: No hoodies or sweatshirts. No competing health system or agency logos.
- Attendance Policy: Three call-ins may result in termination.
