Overview

The Marion, Illinois VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Services Team within Nursing Service at the VA Medical Center in Evansville, IN.

• The incumbent demonstrates leadership in improving patient care by working effectively with others and upholding professional clinical and VA standards and values.
• May be required to rotate tours and duties during low/high census or complete administrative tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• Provide care in the operating room and function independently with self-motivation.
• Primarily work in the EHCC Ambulatory Surgery Center operating room; may assist in Specialty Clinics as schedule allows.
• Serve as a responsible member of the surgical team, interacting with physicians, patients, family members, and professional/supportive personnel to provide patient care with other services; possess in-depth nursing knowledge for surgical patients.
• Provide circulating and scrub duties in the operating room.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. Applicants must provide proof of current certifications prior to employment. Only BLS (including AED) and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.
• In-depth nursing knowledge in care and support of surgical patients; ability to care for patients in the operating room; ability to function independently and be self-motivated.
• Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

Work location primarily in the EHCC Ambulatory Surgery Center operating room; may be asked to assist in other areas as schedule allows.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding Federal holidays. Telework is not available. This is not a virtual position. Relocation/Recruitment incentives:
