We have an immediate opening for a Shipping Specialist on 1st Shift (8:30am - 5:00pm) at our Evansville, IN facility.
The main purpose of this position is to ensure timely and proper shipment of products, from the manufacturing facility, to the customer base domestically and internationally.
Essential Functions:
- Preparation of proper paperwork to accompany finished goods - Print order received by Inside Sales, attach packing list, prepare/finalize bill of lading.
- Checking of pulled orders - ensure accuracy and labeling according to customer and DOT requirements.
- Contact trucking companies - to pick up prepared orders
- Reviews work instructions - associated with the above mentioned job title and regularly attends company-wide training on areas such as Corporate Ethics, Safety, Environmental, etc.
- GED or High School Diploma
- 1-3 years' experience in customer services and/or Inside Sales, Supply Chain OR
- Any combination of equivalent education and experience in Customer Service/Supply Chain.
- Ability to work across departments, with customers, vendors, internally, in order to complete task in timely, efficient, cost effective manner for outbound deliveries.
- Ability to successfully pass Ishihara Test for Colour-Deficiency
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently and/or bilingual
Qualifications:
- Experience with hazardous shipping
- Experience with international shipments
- SAP experience is a plus
Competencies:
- Excellent computer and data entry skills - MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of relating to individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain accurate, detailed files and records, and comply with appropriate record keeping requirements.
- Ability to organize and prioritize in an effective and timely manner, set priorities and meet critical time deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information, company formulations, raw materials, vendors, etc. As well as all Company information and matters.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to all company policies, including Quality/EHS procedures and policies, and all applicable government regulations
