Job Description Start-up, control, monitoring, and shut-down of a multiple Extruder sheet lineEfficiently perform color and/or mold changeAccess the on‑line schedule in JDE and verify the Extrusion equipment and material system is properly set up for the next production jobProperly hook up material system and blenders to multiple Extruders and verify resins, colorants, regrind, and/or additives are being properly dispensedSafely break down, clean, and re‑assemble Extrusion equipmentSafely break down, clean, and re‑assemble Grinding equipmentVerify good sheet quality through correct gauge control, width, color, and visual appearanceMake decisions regarding sheet qualityOperate and set up NDC system to assist with proper gauge controlUse Colori5 color check system to verify sheet is within specificationUse ISRA vision system to monitor sheet for quality defectsOperate turret winder systemCommunicate with the proper departments regarding maintenance on the Extrusion and Material Handling equipmentMonitor Laminate Extrusion Assistants in departmentEffectively communicate with all Extrusion shiftsAssist with color matches and/or material samplesRecord shift production in Web EffQualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalentPrior Sheet Extrusion experience preferredExceptional organizational and communication skills with ability to work independentlyAbility to communicate and work well with other Laminate Extrusion Technicians, and AssistantsAbility to lead people in a positive mannerMust become fork truck certified with ability to drive safely and accuratelyMust become LOTO certifiedAble to follow GMP regulationsAbility to read handheld micrometerAble to stand/walk for seven hours of an eight-hour shiftAble to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basisAbility to climb ladders/steps safely and without assistanceAbility to lift 50 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionallyAbility to push/pull loads in excess of 110 pounds occasionallyHearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on forkliftsAble to use and work well with standard hand toolsVision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12–18 inchesAbility to work in a dusty/smoky environment on an intermittent basisProven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees- Gauge sheet thickness
