Ameri Qual Foods is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and develop our Maintenance team in a fast-paced, highly regulated food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and facilities while partnering closely with production, utilities, facilities, and quality teams to support business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to build and sustain a high-performing maintenance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the Maintenance department to provide effective site and plant maintenance services.
- Plan, organize, and direct the maintenance management program, including short- and long-term maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including capital and expense spending.
- Establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and root cause analysis to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Build technical capability within the maintenance team by identifying talent, supporting new technologies, and promoting ongoing training and development.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership to support a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; food or highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance and engineering principles, reliability practices, CMMS, MRO management, project management, and maintenance financial controls.
- Proven ability to lead by example and drive accountability.
- Demonstrated success implementing innovative technical solutions and process improvements.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Working knowledge of GMPs and OSHA regulations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Must be able to work around complex machinery and packaging systems, including confined spaces.
- Exposure to seasonal warehouse and food processing temperatures.
- Work environment includes exposure to nuts, fruits, and other allergens.
