Description
The Process Technician is responsible for controlling and executing elements of an extrusion process including raw material and finished goods logistics; process addition and mixing of raw materials, and packaging process responsibilities including monitoring of critical control points and ensuring finished goods packaging and pallets meet customer expectations. The role holder will have significant levels of autonomy to make decisions and solve problems around the process.
These will include setup, operation, routine preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment and areas of responsibility. Objectives include safely providing the highest quality product within specifications with the least amount of waste and ensuring that the plant is available to always meet the planned production levels while ensuring strict compliance with Health and Safety and housekeeping requirements. This level of technician can complete batch folders, confirm DAX accuracy of batches, and log batch data in the correct folders.
A technician will need to utilize Microsoft Dynamics AX to accurately track, consume, and create finished products in our database system.

- Packaging responsibilities including monitoring critical control points and ensuring finished goods packaging and pallets meet customer expectations
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy to make decisions and solve process-related problems
- Setup, operate, perform routine preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment and areas of responsibility
- Safely provide high-quality product within specifications with minimal waste
- Ensure plant availability to meet planned production levels while complying with Health and Safety and housekeeping requirements
- Complete batch folders, confirm DAX accuracy of batches, and log batch data in correct folders
- Use Microsoft Dynamics AX to track, consume, and create finished products in the database system
- Education — High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Related Experience
- The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ production experience in a manufacturing environment (food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred).
- Competent in all DAX operations including consumptions, job closures, DAX problem solving, DAX job tracking.

- Ability to use advanced hand tools and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Capable of basic math, rudimentary algebra, reading basic blueprints and plans, US measurement equipment
- Technical Skills
- Understanding of mechanical systems
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Ability to safely operate an FLT to load, unload, and move raw material and finished product
- Ability to safely operate scissor lift and boom lift for maintenance and cleaning
- Ability to perform labs on finished goods and record documentation
- Ability to perform material movements, pick/puts, and material consumptions in DAX; clear production areas after a batch
- Ability to manage production lines from start to staging of finished product with 100% batch accuracy
- HMIs and mechanical problem-solving abilities to prevent unplanned downtime
- Occasionally step in to lead Technician responsibilities for short periods, monitoring and producing multiple lines
- Technical knowledge of bucket elevator timing to safely reset buckets, adjust chain, and adjust tension
- Trained and competent in both scissor lift and boom lift
- Language — English fluency required
- Work Environment — Manufacturing rehouse environment with routine use of equipment. Environment may be hot, cold, wet, dusty, and loud. PPE required (hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, beard/hair nets, safety shoes). Exposure to allergens including gluten and soy. Exposure to Neodymium magnets and cleaning chemicals including D2 (alcohol-based).
- Physical and Sensory Demands — Stand, walk, handle objects, reach overhead, climb stairs, work at heights up to 40 feet; occasionally lift or move products and supplies up to 55 pounds.
