Mixer Operator Job Description
The Mixer Operator is responsible for creating batches of material according to specific customer and company specifications. This role involves weighing materials, cleaning the mixing area, and troubleshooting any mixing issues that arise. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Manager or Group Leader as necessary.
Responsibilities- Review the Mixing Schedule.
- Produce batches in the mixer as scheduled.
- Inspect reconditioned drums prior to use according to specifications.
- Dump batches from mixers.
- Communicate with the previous mixerman to discuss any irregularities or special instructions.
- Produce standard production batches by following the Mixing Procedure.
- Report any abnormalities such as nonstandard conditions or anything unusual in the batch to the Group Leader and Quality Assurance.
- Maintain correct identification on batches.
- Complete necessary paperwork including batch tickets and mixing dump reports.
- Inform Manager of unidentified or misidentified batches, drums, or raw materials, as well as safety and maintenance concerns.
- 1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, or compounding.
- Experience in machine operation, particularly in a chemical or blending context.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Experience with batch production and documentation.
- Experience in chemical handling.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Forklift experience is optional but preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a chemical plant, primarily producing automotive materials. The environment is climate-controlled, but exposure to manufacturing operations such as moving equipment, noise, fumes, and dust is expected. Employees must wear steel-toed shoes and provided safety PPE (safety glasses, respirators, gloves, earbuds). The position is a contract-to-hire role with a 90-day trial period, and it operates on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule from 3:00PM to 11:30PM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM respectively, with potential for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
