The Tier 2 Onsite Technician provides hands‑on technical support in an enterprise environment, supporting IP telephony, cabling, and onsite infrastructure needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to support off‑hours schedules as needed. The technician will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support, assist with coordination of onsite activities, and ensure professional, reliable service delivery.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- Remain on feet for 8+ hours per day
- Crawl under desks and access tight spaces
- Lift 30+ lbs
- Flexible schedule, nights and weekends
- Self‑starter who follows directions with minimal supervision
- Speaks and understands English
- Read and understand floor plans
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of networking and IP telephony
- Professional demeanor and strong reliability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team‑player mentality
- Lead and support a small team of technicians as needed
- Install IP phones in enterprise environments
- Configure and support VoIP phone systems
- Work within IDF/MDF rooms, including patching activities
- Perform basic troubleshooting of cabling and wall jacks
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and tracking
- Communicate proactively with Project Managers
- Act as escalation support for Tier 1 technicians
