We are seeking a Program Manager, Capacity Planning to join our Digital Technology Services (DTS) team at Deaconess Health System. This strategic role is responsible for building and leading a comprehensive capacity and resource planning capability that supports projects, operational work, and service delivery across IT.
The Program Manager will partner closely with IT and other key leaders to ensure technology resources are aligned with organizational priorities and positioned to support future demand.

The Program Manager, Capacity Planning is responsible for leading capacity planning and resource optimization across the Digital Technology Services (DTS) organization. This role partners across IT to develop forecasting models, reporting dashboards, and actionable insights that support effective prioritization and resourcing decisions.
What You Will Do- Capacity Planning & Resource Management
- Lead the development and ongoing management of IT capacity and resource planning across projects, operational work, and service delivery.
- Establish forecasting approaches that account for project demand, operational commitments, and future growth.
- Ensure capacity planning practices support both near-term execution and long-range IT strategy.
- Program Leadership & Execution
- Own the execution of capacity planning initiatives, translating strategy into actionable plans, processes, and deliverables.
Lead cross-functional efforts to implement planning frameworks, tools, and operating practices.
Drive continuous improvement of estimating, planning, and utilization methods to improve accuracy and consistency. - Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with DTS leadership to align capacity and resource decisions with organizational priorities and delivery commitments.
- Support portfolio governance and planning through close collaboration with the PMO, resource managers, and delivery teams.
- Influence adoption of proactive, data-driven planning practices across IT through alignment, transparency, and shared accountability.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into demand, capacity, and resource utilization.
- Analyze intake pipelines, portfolios, and operational workloads to surface trends, risks, and constraints.
Deliver clear, actionable insights that inform prioritization, sequencing, and staffing decision.
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, or a related field — Required
- Experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT program or project management, leading medium to large-scale, cross-functional initiatives. — Required
- 5+ years of capacity planning, resource management, or portfolio-level resource planning. — Preferred
- Healthcare or health system IT experience — Preferred Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence, facilitate, and lead change in cross-functional environments. — Required Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification — Preferred
