Hire Talent is assisting a well-established, growing construction services company in Evansville in their search for a Cost Accountant.

This is a key role for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and is ready to make an impact. You'll work closely with the Controller and a long-standing experienced team, helping to ensure that project and operational teams have clear, timely financial data to drive decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-end close, financial reporting, track job costs, and prepare monthly WIP (work-in-progress) reports
• Maintain accuracy in financial systems (Excel, Viewpoint, or similar ERP)
• Analyze trends and help prepare reports for leadership
• Assist with audit preparation and take on additional hours during seasonal peaks
• Step in for other accounting team members when needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4–7 years of accounting experience and 1–2 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, rental equipment, or industrial services industries
• Understanding of job costing and WIP accounting
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
• Organized, dependable, and able to work across departments with clarity
• Stable company with steady growth
• Full-time position paying overtime for additional hours worked
