, a family-owned and managed company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role supports multiple operating companies and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for owning key accounting and payroll functions for a dynamic, multi-company organization. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, payroll compliance, and successful execution of recurring deadlines while working closely with the Controller and Vice President of Finance. The successful candidate can manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and maintain attention to detail in a high-volume environment.

- Balance sheet account reconciliations and related variance analysis
- Prepare journal entries
- Perform month-end close and financial reporting
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple operating companies
- Maintain corporation registrations in multiple states
- Prepare, review, and process payroll for office employees across multiple entities
- Supervise weekly union field payroll, certified payroll, and associated union reporting, and support related audits
- Prepare, file, and remit all payroll taxes and related filings in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Serve as a key contact for payroll vendors, agencies, and auditors
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in a multi-company or high-volume environment
- Union payroll and compliance experience strongly preferred
- Job cost accounting and progress billing experience a plus
- Experience using Vista software preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues
- Ability to give feedback and manage others
