Essentials / Responsibilities- Assists in the coordination and implementation of Love Your Block grant projects.
- Works closely with project partners, city staff, and community stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Develops and implements strategies to recruit volunteers for Love Your Block projects, including outreach to community organizations, schools, businesses, and local residents.
- Organizes and facilitates volunteer training sessions to ensure that volunteers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to Love Your Block initiatives.
- Tracks project metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project impact and outcomes, including but not limited to community engagement, volunteer participation, and physical improvements to neighborhoods.
- Conducts regular site visits and inspections to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
- Creates an outreach plan in collaboration with the Love Your Block team to reach low‑engagement communities in the Love Your Block neighborhood of focus. >
- Establishes and monitors the volunteer management system, tracking engagement, hours worked, and impact achieved.
- Documents mini‑grant implementation, program activities, and volunteer workdays through at least 50 photos, eight quotes, and five artifacts.
- Collaborates with the Love Your Block team to communicate program impact to city leadership, micro‑grant grantees, and community partners at least once during the service year through presentations, reports, or outreach efforts.
- Prepares a database of residents and community groups participating in Love Your Block.
Coordinates volunteer engagement for Love Your Block projects by recruiting, training, and organizing 25 resident volunteers, scheduling and leading service days, and ensuring volunteer needs are addressed to achieve the successful completion of all approved projects.
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher.
- Must possess one (1) or more years of administrative experience.
- Must be willing and able to work in a position that is specifically funded for the 2026 calendar year and which does not provide benefits such as paid time off.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with and ability to conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting, preferably in a community development or nonprofit setting.
- Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of grant management and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or repeatedly.
- Ability to work outdoors.
- Ability to lift, kneel, bend, stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting heavy objects.
Salary Range: $15 per hour. Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications, but in most cases is no higher than the midpoint of the range.
