A privately held real estate development firm focused on high-end residential and multifamily projects across Chicago’s North Shore is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting function.
This is a fully on-site role within a lean, entrepreneurial team. The position works directly with ownership and will have full visibility into development, construction, and property management operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Own full-cycle accounting and month-end close across multiple entities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Manage intercompany transactions and multi-entity consolidations
- Track job costs, budgets, and project-level reporting for development and construction projects
- Prepare and manage construction loan draws and lender reporting
- Serve as primary contact for external CPAs and support year-end tax and audit processes
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong Quick Books and Excel proficiency
- Experience in real estate, construction, or development accounting preferred
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fully in-office environment
- Ability to manage the full balance sheet independently
