High School Special Education Teacher - Evanston, IL

Overview

A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at a high school located in Evanston, IL. This contract position offers a dynamic setting to deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Working hours run Monday through Friday, 7:55 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., totaling 37.5 to 40 hours weekly throughout the contract school year.

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support in a high school special education classroom.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusion and accommodations.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and administrators.

• Active Illinois Special Education License with an LBS1 endorsement required.
• Experience teaching special education at the high school level is preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
