General Summary
The Content Strategist is a creative communicator who is excited to develop and share information using various environments including print, digital, and video. This role is responsible for helping identify, produce and deliver learning initiatives that support the professional development of AMTA’s membership including engaging webinars and microlearning videos. This position also researches and writes for AMTA’s flagship magazine, Massage Therapy Journal.
The Content Strategist is a curious, resourceful individual who seeks to convey knowledge to AMTA members in various ways and will interact with volunteers and other AMTA departments.
- Help produce and facilitate virtual learning experiences, including webinars on platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom or similar.
- Create short-form instructional videos and microlearning content including script development.
- Apply learning principles and instructional design best practices to all deliverables.
- Conduct needs assessments and collaboration with subject matter experts to translate complex information into learner-friendly content.
- Evaluate effectiveness of learning experiences and recommend improvements using data and learner feedback.
- Support content development through research, writing, and editing.
- Write short- and long-form content for the organization’s flagship magazine, focusing on educational and professional development topics.
- Ensure all written content aligns with editorial standards, organizational goals, and brand voice.
- Work with internal partners to gather information, verify accuracy, and refine key messages.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure learning and publication projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Help coordinate timelines, communication, and version control for learning materials and magazine content.
- Stay current on learning trends, digital learning tools, short video production, and best practices to enhance the organization’s learning approach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to deliver virtual learning experiences, including proficiency with producing webinars on TEAMS, Zoom, or similar.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating both short- and long-form content (magazine, blog, or publication experience a plus).
- Some knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and microlearning strategies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate complex information into engaging, accessible learning content.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent overall communicator, including written, oral, and interpersonal; ability to write clear and compelling copy a must; positive, self-generating, team player mindset.
- Ability to analyze situations, exhibit good judgment and make sound, ethical decisions;

- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form;
- Service/management of AMTA customers including volunteers, members, and vendors.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in content creation with knowledge of webinar production and short-form video development.
- Experience with a membership organization preferred but not required.
- Computer literacy, specifically with Adobe and MS 365.
This position may require some evening and weekend work. Must have the ability to travel.
