Property Accountant

Hire Finance Group is actively engaged in a search for a Property Accountant for a growing, National Real Estate Firm in the Evanston area.

• Manage monthly financial statements for assigned home communities, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analyses.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and sub-ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, including vendor invoice coding, payment runs, rent posting, and delinquency reporting.
• Partner with community managers to review property performance, resolve accounting discrepancies, and ensure proper adherence to budgeting and reporting timelines.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, capital expenditure tracking, and depreciation records for community improvements and infrastructure.
• Assist in annual budget preparation, forecasting, and audit support, ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP.
• Produce operational and financial reports for leadership, investors, and external partners, delivering timely insights into community performance.

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3+ years of property accounting experience
• Yardi preferred
