The pay range per hour is $23.50 - $39.95
. Pay is based on several factors that vary by position, including labor markets, education, work experience and certifications.

About Closing

The Closing team finishes the day’s hard work strong; they take care of guests until the doors close each night. They prioritize the guest, understand each leader’s vision for the store, and enjoy the team while nailing closing routines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience—model, train and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Understand your role in sales growth and how each area contributes to store profitability.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing best practices with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through coaching.
  • Problem‑solve and prioritize across multiple business areas to execute store strategies and deliver business results.
  • Assist leaders through communication and collaboration to influence sales performance and workload deliverables.
  • Support store operations by ensuring departments are zoned, in‑stock, signed and labeled appropriately, setting the store up for success the next day.
  • Use business planning tools to share priorities and business updates with store leadership.
  • Take action to achieve performance goals.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest‑centric team.
  • Support onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development and coaching.
  • Hold team members accountable to expectations and share performance feedback.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes; address emergency and compliance needs.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead the team to work in the same way.
  • Lead a safety culture—model safe behaviors, correct hazards, assist incident response and report injuries.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests when assistance is needed, solve their specific needs and thank guests for choosing Target.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies—ordering, storage, application per best practices.
  • Support guest services (order pick‑up, drive‑up orders and returns) while maintaining compliance with beverage laws.
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Communication skills on multiple frequency devices and operation of handheld scanners.
  • Works independently and as part of a team.
  • Manages workload and prioritizes tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Maintains focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within time frames.
