A Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse (RN Cath Lab) is a highly skilled healthcare professional who provides specialized care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Cath Lab RNs assist cardiologists during procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and pacemaker insertions, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. They prepare patients for procedures, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to cardiac emergencies with precision and efficiency.
RN Cath Lab nurses collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare team members in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. With advanced knowledge of cardiac physiology, critical care, and radiologic equipment, RN Cath Lab professionals play a vital role in diagnosing and treating heart disease while promoting high standards of cardiovascular care and patient recovery.
