Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with active ARRT (M), BLS, and CA license, and at least 2 years' experience in mammography.
Responsibilities- Position is based in an acute care hospital
- Work in the Mammography unit with day shifts (5x8 hours, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- No floating between like units required, but floating to nearby affiliate hospitals may be expected
- No on-call requirement
- EMR used is Epic and experience with Epic is required
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year - Scrub color for Radiology staff is dark solid colors
- Mammography technologists will conduct diagnostic mammograms and assist with screening procedures
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- A 50 mile local radius rule applies for travelers
- Free parking available on first day, assignment parking provided during orientation
- Completion of pre-start and annual modules is required, typically averaging 16 hours
- Must provide all requested RTO at time of consideration; approval will be based on need
- Travelers refusing to float to affiliate hospitals may have contracts terminated
- Housing options in the area may be limited
- Current CA Radiologic Technologist license required if applicable
- ARRT certification and ARRT advanced (Mammography) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mammography required
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last three years from a comparable specialty/setting
- Experience with Epic charting system required
