Lead Surgical Technician - Main Surgery General

The Lead Surgical Technician employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to:
Perform scrubbing responsibilities and assist the Surgeon during the surgical intervention on patients of various ages. Organize the equipment and supply needs for assigned service line. Coordinate supply par levels for their service with Materials Management personnel. Collaborates with surgeons and SPD manager to standardize trays. Review all specialty instrument trays at least yearly and revises recipes and trays as needed.
Collaborates with SPD manager to maintain specialty instruments as needed. Assist with the education of new employees (Endo, OR and SPD) to specialty instruments. Identifies the need to either repair, sharpen or reorder specialty instruments and scopes as needed. Assists with the in-servicing of new specialty procedures, supplies, instruments and/or equipment. Assists new and existing personnel with cross training to the specialty service appropriate to position.

Required Qualifications- Coursework/Training - Proof of Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program NCST or NCCT.
- National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- 5 years - Hospital based Surgical Technologist experience.
