POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Monitor is responsible for overseeing field construction activities for YTEL projects to ensure compliance with permits, engineered specifications, OSHA standards, and project schedules. The Monitor serves as the on-site representative of YTEL, maintaining detailed documentation, facilitating change management processes, and ensuring site security and operational integrity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors are tasked with ensuring that contractors strictly follow all permit requirements and the engineered build specifications.

Monitors are tasked with ensuring contractors follow OSHA safety standards and follow OSHA guidelines.

Verify that all work performed aligns with approved plans and project standards.

Monitors will maintain detailed, daily logged diaries that document contractors progress and any issues, events or incidents requiring documentation.

Follow the YTEL-published construction schedule.

Ensure contractors are granted access to sites according to schedule.

Ensure contractors do not possess keys or access codes to YTEL's sites without written approval from the YTEL's management.

Relay all contractor-initiated change order requests to the YTEL Project Manager for review and approval.

Coordinate closely with the YTEL Project Manager to address schedule conflicts or field adjustments.

Monitors will compile a month-end report summarizing all daily logged events. These reports will provide a comprehensive overview of activities, progress, and any issues encountered during the month.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

OSHA 30 certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. 1 to 3 years’ experience preferred.

Employee must be willing to acquire any special certifications or attend any training that is determined to be relevant or becomes required of the position in the future.

Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
