We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment and facility. This role plays a crucial part in minimizing downtime, maximizing productivity, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery and equipment according to established schedules. (Create preventive maintenance programs if necessary).
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and equipment manuals using our CMMS (UpKeep).
  • Collaborate with production staff to optimize equipment performance and minimize waste.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment if needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements or equipment upgrades.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing projects.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, equivalent or technical certification.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with automation systems and computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proactive and reliable.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Punctuality and attendance is important.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), stand for long periods of time, as well as sit, squat and climb stairs or ladders.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
