Overview
Insight Global is hiring an Engineer in Charge for a client in Euless, TX. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining engineering standards for the client, ensuring compliance with accepted industry practices, and overseeing the technical operations of all facilities and broadcast media components. This role involves supervising engineering personnel and technical vendors, advising on the use and repair of a wide range of equipment including broadcast, data processing, telephone, security, and energy management systems.
The Engineer in Charge will actively participate in long-range planning, project management, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency and quality.
- Onsite 5 days a week
- 9 month contract to hire full time
- Monday through Friday
- M-F 8am-5pm
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Broadcast Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a broadcast engineering, studio tech, or facilities maintenance role preferred.
- Hands-on experience with both analog and digital signal flow, media servers, automation, and physical plant operations preferred
- Work closely with all departments to provide professional and timely technical support, communicate status updates on problems and projects, and offer effective technical solutions.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards for all clients technical infrastructure and broadcast systems.
- Supervise engineering personnel and manage technical vendors, ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines.
- Oversee and advise on the use, maintenance, and repair of all facilities-related systems, including HVAC, telephone, security, and energy management.
- Perform or schedule preventative maintenance across all technical systems (broadcast, IT, facilities) to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Proactively monitor systems to anticipate and resolve technical issues across all areas of responsibility.
- Maintain knowledge and stay current on technological advances, including computer software and hardware, media and entertainment technologies, television broadcasting, studio production, HVAC, and phone systems.
- Troubleshoot and report any emergency problems with broadcast equipment, HVAC, and phone systems, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Assist and advise the Media Operations Manager in maintaining, maximizing, and servicing the clients overall technical needs.
- Research, recommend, and oversee the purchase of equipment necessary to produce quality results and maximize effectiveness and efficiency, contributing to budget planning.
- Assist management in the long-range planning for replacing and upgrading equipment and systems across all technical domains.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of new technologies and system upgrades.
- Document equipment repairs and maintain accurate records of system configurations for all relevant technical assets.
- Maintain the Technical Shop, ensuring organization and an adequate supply of spare parts.
- Assist in on-site and off-site television productions as Engineer in Charge, which may include set-up and teardown, assembling and shading cameras.
- Be familiar with all aspects of television broadcast and production.

Compensation: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
