Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, and monitor all quality assurance standards. • Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated through product inquiries and suggestions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide fresh products to customers, ensuring proper temperature in cases and coolers, and maintain temperature logs.
• Check product quality, review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including preventive maintenance and equipment inspection.
• Notify management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity such as robbery, theft or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment, managing conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary, and support customers of all ages and special needs.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
