• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plates and hot base lowerator temperatures are within limits and that the steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure appropriate serving utensils are used and that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed before tray line).
• During the tray line, ensure trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean, and plate covers are dry.
• After tray line, check and record excess/shortage preparation and discuss with the supervisor.

• Food Handler's permit/Serv Safe certification as per state requirements.
• Reading, writing, and following oral and written directions in English.
• Positive and favorable communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Pass a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
