Landscape/Horticulturist

The Landscape/Horticulturist, under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy, works to beautify the clubhouse grounds and golf course property through the selection, propagation, purchase, installation and maintenance of ornamental plants and trees. The Landscape/Horticulturist manages the greenhouse to produce and install ornamental landscaping for the golf course and clubhouse properties. This is a full-time, hands-on, self-motivated position.

• Manages the greenhouse, selects, propagates and grows plant material for ornamental use on and around the golf course, clubhouse and other buildings.
• Designs flower beds and cultivate shrubs and flowers.
• Trims and prunes, hedges and shrubbery.
• Ordering of annual flowers that we do not grow in the greenhouse.
• Maintenance of clubhouse grounds with trimming, edging, mowing, spraying, installation of flowers/plants, irrigation repairs.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers to ornamental plantings.
• Ability to work on the golf course to assist with the golf course maintenance, e.g., mowing, raking bunkers, rolling greens.

• 3-5 years of experience in landscaping.
• Knowledge of the characteristics, growth habits and proper cultivation of a wide selection of flowering bulbs, annuals, biennials and perennial plant materials, including both herbaceous and woody plants.
• Knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers, soil conditioners and pest control methods, materials and water management.
• May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.
• Experience in golf course maintenance and the game of golf.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work early mornings and some weekends/holidays.
• Ability to work alone and with others on projects.

• $ per hour. Commensurate with experience.
