Overview

Clinical Infusion Nursing Supervisor

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is searching for a delightfully determined, crusadingly compassionate Clinical Infusion Nursing Supervisor. Responsible for managing the nursing department, this individual will take part in schedule maintenance, hiring and staffing interviews, oversight of nurses in infusion, triage, and navigation, review and promote clinical policies and procedures, staff training, and much more. 5 years of nursing is required, with at least 1 in Oncology.

General pay scale for this position at WVCI is $94,632.58 - $. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Assist with maintaining effective nursing staff coverage for the practice within budgetary constraints.
  • Participate in the interview and recruiting of nursing personnel to maximize services to patients in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Assist in verifying encounter form charges to ensure proper/appropriate charges.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedule and coordinate employee staffing including vacations, sick leave, and overtime.
  • Assist with staff training and in‑services as required. Track staff member CEUs and allowances.
  • Ensure nurses maintain all required certifications on an annual basis.
  • Communicate skillfully with patients and families, triaging problems and needs, and initiating appropriate actions.
  • Document all communications accurately and appropriately.
  • Assist in maintaining nursing personnel files. Ensure all licensing and certification criteria are met.
  • Provide support and direction as required in the area of clinical research in the practice to ensure staff compliance to the established research protocols.
  • Assist in performing the duties of the OSHA health and safety manager.
  • Perform tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary.
  • Supervise professional nursing staff and indirectly supervise nursing and ancillary clinical staff, including laboratory personnel in some locations.
  • The nursing supervisor may go to Newport, Corvallis, Albany, and even Eugene at times to complete the essential functions of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least one‑two (1‑2) years oncology experience.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
  • RN License for the State of Oregon.
  • OCN preferred.
