Championship Services Coordinator

Track Town USA is seeking a Championship Service Coordinator to play a central role in building and sustaining Track Town’s volunteer program and accreditation, while advancing Track Town USA’s mission to make Eugene, Oregon the premier track and field destination in the world.

Track Town USA, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to setting a standard of excellence in hosting premier track and field events, creating a supportive environment for elite athletic performances, being a leader in sustainable sport practices, and inspiring the next generation of track and field athletes and fans. The organization was responsible for organizing the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2015, 2022, 2023, and 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, and the 2016, 2020, and 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials—Track & Field.

In partnership with USA Track & Field, the organization brought the 2022 World Athletics Championships to the United States for the first time. Track Town delivers the Wanda Diamond League’s recurring Prefontaine Classic, recognized as one of the world’s best track and field meets.

• Develop and execute strategies to recruit, train, and retain a diverse volunteer workforce.
• Build relationships with community groups, schools, and local organizations to expand outreach.
• Support Captains and Leads in managing their volunteer teams.

• Maintain and update the accreditation system, volunteer profiles, registrations, uniform orders, shift availability, and assignments in the volunteer system.
• Ensure data accuracy for compliance, release forms, and reporting.
• Generate reports to monitor engagement, participation, and trends.

• Oversee on-site volunteer operations, including check‑in, training, and scheduling.
• Plan workforce meals, activities, and recognition efforts to enhance volunteer experience.
• Collaborate with event staff to ensure smooth integration of volunteers into event operations.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3 years of volunteer management or workforce coordination experience, preferably in sports, nonprofits, or events.
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with volunteer management software preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers and staff at all levels.
• Self‑starter with proven ability to lead projects and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for event coverage.

As the Championship Services Coordinator you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for volunteers and contributing to the success of world‑class track & field events. You’ll help shape a program that connects community members with the global stage of athletics, while working alongside a passionate team committed to excellence.
