Overview
Looking Glass's Homeless Youth Services Programs are hiring for on-call relief positions!
The Relief staff are responsible for on-call relief counselor work with adolescents in crisis intervention, outreach, and residential programs within Looking Glass.
Responsibilities- Provide crisis intervention, maintain a positive milieu, and create behavior management plans for youth who access services at the Looking Glass PEER Shelter, Station 7, and New Roads Programs.
- Offer culturally informed, effective, quality services to clients and actively support equity, anti-racism, and belonging in all duties.
- Assist with Street Outreach, including greeting youth upon entering New Roads or Rural drop-in center; provide education, prevention services, and referral information on issues relevant to homeless and runaway youth (e.g., sexual abuse, domestic violence, trafficking).
- Assist with classroom presentations, maintain cleanliness of the drop-in center, perform outreach to community groups, and participate in regular street outreach shifts.
- Passion for helping youth and ability to relate to teens from diverse backgrounds, values, and cultures.
- Be a positive youth mentor and role model with strong boundary-setting abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations.
Schedule varies and takes your availability into account! Pay ranges from $21.10/hour - $27/hour depending on location
