Position Summary

The QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the quality of our lumber. This includes ensuring quality standards are met in our manufacturing, drying, and grading processes to deliver the highest quality lumber to our customers.

This position reports directly to the Director of QC, with a dotted reporting line to the site manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • The QC position will be responsible for overseeing all QC aspects of this site. Making sure our best practices and processes are taught and followed through the entire process.
  • Always maintain the highest standards with respect to safety, leading by example and ensuring team members follow all policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
  • The QC Supervisor will be responsible for managing their Graders, do annual reviews, goals, work schedules, all safety requirements, etc.
  • The QC Supervisor will train new Graders as the site needs them to ensure the longevity of the business.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Graders and anyone whose learning any job to ensure their success and help them understand why quality is very important to our business.
  • Provide feedback and training to site Graders ensuring their accuracy of 96% or above.
  • Analyzes issues and develops solutions. Recommends and implements measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of productvə
  • Must manage time wisely according to QC/site needs.
  • Be flexible to grade changes, keep an open mind and always be looking for ways to improve our processes and products.
  • Work with QC Director to manage customer complaints/claims or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Lead others safely with a positive attitude.
  • Meets with management team to discuss current issues, production goals, and quality control standards, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Assists with training new workers and ensure all members of the team understand our quality standards and best practices.
  • Forecast production for supply plans and sales with a 95% accuracy.
  • Must wear casual business attire on a daily basis. All other duties as assigned by your manager.

Basic Qualifications
  • Candidates must have 5 years experience/knowledge with grading, manufacturing, lumber drying, finishing, grading rough and finished lumberunay. Must be self-starter. Salary will be based on knowledge and experience.
  • Candidates must have good product knowledge and a good understanding of supply chain and demand concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Willing to continually improve skills through various offered educational opportunities.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programsزار

  • Extended hours may be required, as well as periodically working different shifts.
