The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Float provides direct care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) within supported living homes in Eugene/Springfield.
This is a full time, permanent position. Schedule for shifts subjected to change based on needs of programs, however schedules are given two weeks in advance
This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.
++What You’ll Do++- Enrich and support the lives of our residents in the supported living program while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Assist with transportation needs for community outings, appointments, and errands
- Implement positive behavior supports and de‑escalating challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- 1+ years of DSP/Caregiving experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is ++required.++ Experience in Supported Living or in home care strongly preferred.
- Must have ++valid driver’s license & vehicle++ to travel between programs and provide transportation to clients
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (day/swing shift and weekend availability required)
- Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioral
- Have a passion to help others

- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to provide references
- 18 years of age or older (required)
- Able to attend two weeks of PAID in‑house orientation and training
