To provide high‑quality instruction that meets established learning aims and outcomes for students in Economics courses. Faculty are professional educators responsible for delivering a quality learning experience and serving as teachers of record and facilitators of learning.
Essential Functions- Support student learning through activities such as:
- Exhibit compliance with College policies, accountability for leave time, timesheets, release time, textbook ordering.
- Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
- Participate collegially in faculty performance evaluation.
- Maintain office hours as per College expectations.
- Maintain campus presence for instruction and student needs.
- Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab.
- Problem‑solve and manage sensitive information with FERPA awareness; maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Curriculum Delivery
- Provide high‑quality classroom instruction.
- Create, develop, and revise course content and materials.
- Establish learning outcomes and assess them using appropriate tools; use results to inform improvement.
- Incorporate college values and promote respectful learning, including multicultural and diversity awareness.
- Teach and develop all syllabi and materials in a form directly usable by students.
- Confer with students on course materials.
- Deliver curriculum in traditional and online formats.
- Online Teaching and Student Support
- Engage within the online course environment to ensure Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI).
- Monitor student progress and provide coaching and assistance to struggling students.
- Review and grade all submissions and provide timely feedback.
- Respond promptly to student inquiries.
- Ensure materials meet Section 508 guidelines.
- Use effective strategies for online teaching.
