Position Type: Contracted Part‑time Faculty (Academic Year 2025‑2026)

Position SummaryPrepare and deliver high‑quality instruction in political science courses, including U.S. Government & Politics, International Relations, Political Ideology, Modern World Governments, and related subjects. Teaching will occur both online and in‑classroom, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all students.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging in‑class and online courses.
- Develop and revise course materials, syllabi, and assessments aligned with core learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate grade books, attendance records, and student documentation in accordance with FERPA.
- Use an LMS to manage course content, facilitate discussions, and provide timely feedback.
- Support student learning through regular office hours, personalized coaching, and responsive communication.
- Participate in collegial faculty activities, including performance evaluation and professional development.
- Ensure classroom or online environments meet Section 508 and ADA accessibility standards.
- Assist in departmental and institutional commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Required
Education:
Master’s degree in Political Science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience: Teaching experience with community‑college student populations is preferred; experience in online instruction and LMS usage is also preferred.
Skills: Instructional design, student assessment, technology integration, effective communication.
Other Requirements: Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check and be residents of Oregon.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly wages determined by experience and qualifications.
- Part‑time faculty may receive a benefits package contributing to medical, dental, vision, life, and long‑term disability insurance, and paid sick leave.
