Position: 2025-26 BEST Site Program Coordinator Pool (Multiple Locations)
This is a part-time, .75 FTE/6 hours per day position working on the CL-192 (192 calendar days for the school year) schedule. (Multiple positions)
This is a 6-hour per day position. Hours are from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm Monday - Thursday, with occasional meetings on Fridays. The BEST Site Coordinator works with BEST staff, school site staff, and community partner staff to operate a robust after-school program for students.
Minimum Requirements for the position require you to meet Highly Qualified status, defined by the state of Oregon, ORS . Documentation for Highly Qualified status:
- Official or unofficial transcripts with your name, showing 2 years of post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours or 48 semester credits.
- Obtaining an associate’s or higher degree (attach diploma)
- Meeting a rigorous standard of testing through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (attach test scores).
Preferred candidates will have experience in an educational setting, coordinating and leading programs, data entry, the use of tech, and working with a variety of staff and students. In addition, bilingual candidates are preferred.
Plan, organize, coordinate and participate in the evaluation of school district after-school programs to meet the needs of students. This position works collaboratively with students, staff, schools, community partners, and families to develop, implement, and promote high-quality educational programs to promote student growth and increase student achievement.
Essential Functions
Recommend and assist in the implementation of program goals and objectives.Implement program guidelines and procedures.Plan, prioritize, assign, instruct, coordinate, and review the work of after school program staff, volunteers, and interns involved in the areas of assignment.Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and providing technical supervision to after-school staff.Provide information and answer questions for the public; investigate complaints to recommend and implement corrective actions as necessary to resolve complaints.Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate academic and recreational before/after school programs and services.Market and promote programs and services, including the preparation of fliers, newsletters, pamphlets, brochures, and public speaking.Work cooperatively with community partners and other agencies to provide a balanced program.Research, develop, prepare, and present various reports on programs and activities. Ongoing collection of data to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of program goals and objectives.Monitor and evaluate program budgets. Assist in budget preparation and monitor and control expenditures; the preparation of cost estimates for budget recommendations; development of justifications for budget items.Monitor program compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to the provision of program services.Ensure the safety of patrons, the general public, equipment, and vehicles by identifying and implementing risk management procedures and practices.Coordinate the scheduling and reservation of District facilities for use.Recruit volunteers through effective marketing techniques.Promote programs through culturally competent outreach projects such as holding open houses, hosting tours, and community presentations.Facilitate training for after-school staff as needed.Coordinate and facilitate monthly staff meetings.Collaborate with other School Program Coordinators and other staff to provide coordinated, successful, and effective programming.Work effectively with site administration and staff to identify students for the program.Manage and coordinate all aspects of registration processes, transportation, and meal programs.Create and implement an effective student behavior management system in accordance with school district policies and best practices.Ensure equity in the provision of programs and ensure diversity in all programming and staffing aspects in accordance with district policy.Attend work daily in order to carry out and discharge all other essential functions of the position.Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Maintains regular and prompt attendance.Performs other related duties as assigned.Essential Abilities
