Overview
Actalent is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Manager to lead onsite construction activities from mobilization through final project closeout. This role requires strong field leadership, technical knowledge of MEP systems, and the ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, documentation, and subcontractor performance. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with industrial or central plant projects and excels at safety oversight, client communication, and quality control.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the full construction lifecycle from mobilization through turnover and final closeout.
+ Oversee daily onsite activities, subcontractor operations, equipment deliveries, and site logistics.
+ Maintain project schedules, including monthly critical-path updates in MS Project and weekly 3‑week look‑ahead schedules.
+ Track and forecast construction budgets, identify cost risks, and manage all change orders and CO logs.
+ Oversee general conditions, equipment rentals, and site services throughout the project duration.
+ Enforce site‑specific safety programs and ensure all subcontractors comply with safety standards.
+ Manage safety documentation, SDS logs, site inspections, and corrective actions through Procore.
+ Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure full OSHA compliance (OSHA 30 minimum).
+ Coordinate AHJ, third‑party, and special inspections, including Oregon state compliance requirements.
+ Manage RFIs, submittals, inspections, permits, daily logs, and closeout documentation in Procore.
+ Ensure QA/QC standards and all trade‑specific deliverables are met and verified.
+ Provide daily and weekly progress reports, including deficiency tracking and corrective actions.
+ Lead weekly construction and stakeholder meetings and issue detailed meeting minutes.
+ Serve as the primary onsite contact for clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
+ Manage project turnover activities including commissioning support, documentation completion, and acceptance.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
+ 7+ years of Construction or Project Management experience.
+ Proven success leading multimillion‑dollar MEP renovations or new construction projects.
+
Experience with industrial or central plant systems; preferred experience managing MEP projects $5M+.
+ Working knowledge of P&IDs, hazardous area classifications, and industrial process systems (preferred).
+ Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, and construction documentation workflows.
+ Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
+ PMP, CPM, or similar certifications preferred.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Eugene, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
